1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Media Forge (the "App"), a macOS application for organising media libraries, provided by the individual developer operating as Media Forge ("we", "us", "our").

By downloading, installing or using the App you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Licence

Subject to these Terms and payment of the applicable fee, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on Mac computers that you own or control.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, distribute, sell or sublicence the App or any part of it
• Reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the App
• Remove or obscure any proprietary notices
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Share your licence key or account credentials with others (direct download only — Mac App Store purchases do not use a licence key)

A free demo mode is available without purchase, limited to 25 file organise operations. Demo mode does not require an account or payment. These Terms apply in full to demo use.

The App is licensed, not sold. All intellectual property rights in the App remain with us.

3. Licence types

Annual licence — provides access to the App for one year from the date of purchase. The licence must be renewed annually to continue using the App and receiving updates. If the licence is not renewed, the App will revert to demo mode at the end of the licence period.

Lifetime licence — provides access to the App and all future updates with a single one-time payment. This licence does not expire.

All licence types are for personal use only and cover the individual purchaser. Device limits are as follows:

• Annual licence — valid on up to 2 Macs that you personally own or control.
• Lifetime licence — valid on up to 3 Macs that you personally own or control.

Mac App Store purchases — if you purchased via the Mac App Store, your licence is managed by Apple and tied to your Apple ID. The annual and lifetime licence types are available through both the Mac App Store and direct download. Direct download licences use a licence key for activation; the device limits above apply.

4. Payments and billing

Mac App Store purchases — if you purchase the App through the Apple Mac App Store, your purchase is subject to Apple's payment terms and App Store Review Guidelines. Apple acts as the seller of record for those transactions.

Direct purchases — if you purchase the App directly from mediaforge.uk, your transaction is processed by Paddle (paddle.com), who acts as the Merchant of Record. Paddle handles all payment processing, invoicing and applicable tax obligations on our behalf. Your purchase is subject to Paddle's terms of service in addition to these Terms.

Prices are displayed in GBP and are inclusive of applicable VAT where required by law. Paddle calculates and collects VAT based on your billing location.

5. Refunds

Mac App Store purchases — refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy. Please contact Apple Support to request a refund.

Direct purchases via Paddle — you may request a full refund within 30 days of purchase. Contact us at support@mediaforge.uk with your order details or contact Paddle directly via their support portal.

6. Updates and changes

We may release updates to the App from time to time. Updates may add features, fix bugs or change existing functionality. We are not obligated to provide any specific updates or features.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time with reasonable notice where possible.

7. Third-party services

The App integrates with third-party services including The TVDB, Fanart.tv, Subdl, Jellyfin, Emby and Plex. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy or conduct of any third-party service.

Subtitles are sourced via the Subdl API. Users must provide their own API key and agree to Subdl's terms of service.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free or that defects will be corrected. We do not warrant that the App is compatible with any specific version of macOS.

Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be excluded or limited.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for your licence in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your licence without refund if you breach these Terms, including but not limited to: redistributing or reverse-engineering the App, sharing licence credentials, initiating fraudulent chargebacks, or any other misuse. Mac App Store purchases are governed by Apple's termination policies.

On termination your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections 2, 8, 9 and 10 survive termination.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
